Off Team

The sailing team is led by Damir Miloš who designed sailing programs based on extensive sailing and pedagogic experience (assistant at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Zagreb; professor at the Academy of Applied Arts in Rijeka).

Forty years ago, he learned from the famous Italian sailor Chino Ricchi how to organize a sailing school, while also visiting the best schools of the time: Italian Caprera (Centro Velico Caprera) and French Glénan (“Les Glénans”).
In Croatia, he learned from Mladen Šutej, who was leading the first sailing school in our country.

Sailing is not the only interest of this team. Damir Miloš is also a writer, Zoe is a sculptor and painter, and Val organizes events in Vodice.

Our adviser is also maritime and gastronomic writer Radovan Marčić, of course, concerning cooking on the boat and visiting different restaurants.

One thing is for sure: it will not be boring.

Damir Miloš

Damir Miloš, born 13th November 1954. in Opatija, more than 20 years instructor in ACI sailing school, has sailed as a skipper on maxi ”ACY No1” across the Atlantic Ocean at the regatta on the occasion of the 500th anniversary of Columbus’s discovery of America (on course Genova – Cadiz – Las Palmas – San Huan – New York – Boston), and in return across north Atlantic in regatta ”TRANSAT 92” from Quebec in Canada to Saint-Malo in France. After leaving ACI he gains the status of an independent artist and dedicates himself to writing. 

He finished his studies in 1979. at the Philosophy and Phonetics departments at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences University of Zagreb, where he achieved a master’s degree with a thesis ”Body and language”, and received the title ”Mr. sc”. He was teaching at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Zagreb and the Academy of Applied Arts in Rijeka. Writer, wrote and published around fifteen books and a few manuals on sailing.

Val Miloš

Val Miloš is born on 9th April 1998. in Šibenik. Worked as a sailing instructor in ANA Sailing school in Jezera on beginner and advanced courses. Skippered different monohulls and catamarans during summer seasons in Croatia since 18 years old. Did transfers throughout Adriatic, from and to Greece, Turkey and Malta. Takes care of the bow on Bura’s races. Always hungry.

Master of Arts with a Major in Cultural Studies. Studied in Rijeka, Croatia and in Malmö, Sweden. Co-founder of Udruga Mladih Bokon, a youth asssociation from Vodice. As an active member takes part in organisation of exibitions, skate events, concerts and graffiti festivals. In 2023. Bokon association finalised a skatepark project, which gave Vodice a biggest concrete skatepark in whole Croatia. 

Zoe Miloš

Zoe Miloš, born 13th October 1994. in Rijeka, worked in ANA (sailing school in Jezera) part-time during the season as an instructor of the basic course. Skippered monohulls for few seasons in Croatia. Did several Adriatic transfers. 

Has a bachelor’s degree, majoring in sculpture at the Academy of Applied Arts in Rijeka, but his work gravitates towards painting. He is also a skater, heavy coffee drinker and a hardcore sweets addict.
